Post 10: my image

 


I feel like this image of the suburbs captures me as a person. The suburbs are widely known as a place families come to settle down often ties seen as safe and almost boring. But at the end of the day it really is a place many call home and holds a special place in their hearts. I feel as though this image represents my persona because although it is known to be quite ordinary once you grow accustomed to it and live your youth here there is a underlying beauty of the people and community around you that you can really appreciate. It also relates to me because I also grew up in the suburbs and honestly where you live really shapes you into the person you are now. Also as the poem "in the Suburbs" says, "each for some unquiet soul, a haven and a home" I really feel like this also represents how much I value having my own peace and alone time for myself as I feel like its healthy for not only me but for everyone else to take some breaks from this chaotic world we live in.

    I loved this post! I think you did a great job at describing what the image portrays to you. I love the idea of something becoming more beautiful as you become accustomed to it. I love seeing your take on suburbs!

    Awesome post. I can relate to your feelings on the suburbs. When I was young an open area of land was nearby my house which served as a park for me and my friends until it was covered with more houses dissolving my friendships.

My favorite show at the moment would definitely have to be bridgeton. This show takes place in the city of London during the time of balls, gowns, and royalty. This setting really contributes to the more classy, romantic, and regal tones throughout the show. For example hen there are balls being held at the palace the beautiful environment emphasizes the fairytale like feeling intended for the audience.

Post 8: My verse

For as long as I can remember I've always been a people pleaser. I would alter my appearance, environment, and just about everything of my own identity. I did this just for the validation and approval of others and from so many years falling victim to forcing myself to fit this "perfect mold" for my parents, friends, and peers i almost lost every aspect of my genuine self. I had been doing this for such a long time I had just recently woken up from this illusion of a fake person i had created of myself that one day I couldn't even recognize myself in the mirror. It also made me question, "did I even have any true passions or personality traits? or were they just fragments of what others had expected of me?"
